Hello! I am a whimsical natural illustrator specializing in pen and ink drawings and gouache paintings. My work features landscapes, still life compositions, natural science illustrations, and fun animal and character designs.

My artistic style combines the precision of natural science illustration with a playful touch of cartooning. My favorite subjects include nature, animals, landscapes, and mascots.

While I have been drawing my entire life, I spent the past 30 years as an internet marketing pioneer, helping to establish digital advertising agencies.

My process always starts on paper with gesture drawing. From there, I follow one of three workflows depending on the piece:

1. Traditional Pen & Ink with Digital Color: I create detailed pen and ink artwork and add digital color
2. Gouache with Pen Details: I paint with opaque watercolor (gouache) and add pen and ink finishing touches
3. Digital to Vector: I work on my iPad and bring the image into Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for vector projects like mascots and t-shirts

I hold a BBA in Marketing with a concentration in Art and Design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I'm currently completing my Natural Science Illustration certificate at RISD. I reside in Rochester, NY and Cuba, NY with my family and pets.
